It’s our honor to share the award-winners for ! This was our biggest year yet, with stunning films from across the globe. These films moved us, inspired us, and stretched the imagination of what cinema could truly be! Congratulations to all of the award-winners, as well our new alumni! Welcome to the family…It’s not just a festival - it’s a MOVEMENT!

The 29th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival ignited New York City with more than 9,000+ attendees, over five days of cinematic brilliance and cultural celebration, honoring filmmakers whose work continues to push the boundaries of global storytelling. Founded in 1997 by Stacy Spikes, the Urbanworld Film Festival is the world’s largest multicultural competitive
festival and an Academy Award®–qualifying festival. From October 29 to November 1, 2025,
Urbanworld showcased more than 100+ films, reaffirming its position as one of the world’s most influential platforms for voices in film and media.

TODAY is the day! Love animation? Love purposeful stories with a hear? Don’t miss our 5pm screening of ASALI!

ASALI: Power of The Pollinators, is an animated action-adventure short film that follows Asali, a little honey bee who is the survivor of the collapse of her bee colony, as she meets a colorful group of pollinator friends and a human environmental scientist.

Together they unravel a trail of secrets to discover if they can save their home from a monstrous and deadly force that has been haunting Asali and her family’s past.
