TEDxHCCS Youth 2025 "Footprints" was a student-produced exploration of "How our actions affect the world around us." With mentorship from volunteer Aaron Sylvan, our team of 13 8th Graders at Hellenic Classical Charter Schools chose topics of inquiry, invited presenters, and coached their talks.
We studied Persuasive Speaking through Aristotle's Three Appeals, whic are "λόγος/logos", "ήθος/ethos", and "πάθος/pathos". These translate roughly to "Facts and Logic", "Credibility and Trustworthiness", and "Emotional Impact".
The overall event was meant to enrich the lives of the students, but also (like all TED Talks) the proceedings were shared with the world as "ideas worth spreading", completely free of charge.
