LFA Completes Final Module of CAF License B Course

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) successfully concluded the final module of the CAF License B Coaching Course on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The course began in May 2026 with 23 participants, who completed Modules One through Three. Among the cohort were two female coaches, Winnie B. Dorbah and Blessing Nagbe, whose tuition was fully funded by the LFA through its Women's Capacity Building Program.

This just ended course is part of the LFA’s ongoing commitment to raising technical standards, expanding coaching education, and broadening opportunities through targeted capacity-building initiatives.

From Football Manager Game to Coaching in Real Life ⚽️🇱🇷

From playing Football Manager on his computer and phone to completing the CAF License B Coaching Program, Coach Mohammed S. Sheriff continues to turn his football dreams into reality.

Mo began his coaching journey after earning his Level 1 Coaching Certificate through the Liberia Football Association and later progressed through the LFA D and C Licenses, before completing the CAF License B program.

A BSc Biology graduate of the United Methodist University, Mo previously played football before turning his full attention to coaching.

His coaching career started with Liberia Young Controllers FC (LYCE FC). He later served as Sports Director of New Vision Sports Academy and went on to coach Baby Eagles, where he helped the senior team earn promotion from the LFA Mass League (4th Division) to the Community League (3rd Division) for the first time. He’s currently the lead technical director at Career Path Sports Group

In 2024, he coached District #2 to their first final in seven years in the Montserrado District League, going unbeaten before losing the championship on penalties.

Mo has also earned additional coaching qualifications through Surge Soccer International and the The Irish Football Association, and currently serves as Deputy Secretary General of the Liberia Football Coaches Association.

Now, a new challenge awaits as he continues another chapter as Assistant Coach of LISCR FC.

From the virtual touchline to the real one — the journey continues. ⚽️

U.S.-based Liberian forward Joseph Melto Quiah has received his invitation to join the Lone Star squad for Liberia’s upcoming 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Rwanda and Mali.

The New Mexico United forward replaces Mohammed Kamara and joins the squad after making nine USL Championship appearances this season, with one goal and one assist.

Quiah is no stranger to the Lone Star, having previously featured in Liberia’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Egypt in 2021.

He now gets another chance to shine on the international stage as Liberia faces Rwanda on September 25 in Kigali and Mali on September 29 in Monrovia.

Quiah is also the third USL Championship-based player in the current Lone Star setup, alongside Peter Wilson and Bryant Farkarlun.

CIC writes ✍️🚨

This is Sampson Dweh….
Plays for Viktoria Plzen in the Czech league and Europa.

Never declined a call up and play with knee wraps and pain meds. Long flights with hours of transit just to be able to wear our shirt.

Not one day have we applauded this man enough for all he has done and still doing.

But here we are making the most out of a player who turned down call ups for reason best known to him and the FA.

I say this to say, it’s time we start appreciating our unsung heroes. Let’s give em all the applause we can give.

Right after the Europa league match against Union St. Gilloise and league match against Slavia Prague, he’ll be on that flight again coming to represent the motherland. No rest… ❗️

Thank you Sampson for your tireless sacrifices. No drama, no noise, just giving his all on and off the pitch for the flag. Kudos bro🙌🏽

Upon further reaching out, Mohammed Kamara will not be with the team for the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers against Rwanda and Mali and set to be replaced.

I was concerned when I found out that the Liberia 🇱🇷 and Rwanda 🇷🇼 match will be played at Amahoro Stadium, which has a natural turf, while the match against Mali 🇲🇱 will be played on SKD’s artificial turf.

Kamara reportedly mentioned to Liberia’s technical team that his club doctor advised him not to play on artificial turf. The technical team then assured him that he would only play in the Rwanda match, which will be played on natural turf. However, Mo Kamara still insisted that his club doctor had also warned him against flying long distances.

Liberia has always shown Mo Kamara that he is an important player and that the team needs his services at all times. The respect has been shown to him despite his concerns. Imagine getting on board for a long journey just to play the Rwanda game.

Kamara has a legitimate health concern. Mentally, that shows he’s not totally ready after having a conversation with his doctor, even though he recently scored for Rapid Bucharest.

While the Rwanda match will be played on natural turf, Liberia’s match against Mali will be played on artificial turf. Again, the repeated history of declining Liberia call-ups is what makes this situation open to legitimate discussion.
