Gear up, Hancock County! As the weather warms up and the riding season kicks into high gear, we want to make sure all our local riders stay safe on the open road this summer. Join the Hancock County Parks and Recreation Board for our very first Blessing of the Bikes event!
This special gathering is dedicated to the safety, protection, and fellowship of our local motorcycling community. Together, we will share a moment of reflection and a collective prayer, asking for clear roads, watchful eyes, and a safe return home for every rider after every journey this season. The prayer will be given by Pastor Jeremy McClimans of Kings Creek Union Chapel. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with them and bring this event to the community.

Mark those calendars and help us spread the word! ✝️🏍🙏

🇺🇸 With Sincere Gratitude: Remembering Those Who Gave All

Tonight, the Hancock County Parks and Recreation team was deeply honored to host our Memorial Ceremony. It was a solemn, beautiful evening dedicated to remembering and honoring the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. An event of this significance is only possible through the support of our incredible community, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us in remembrance.
To the Chester American Legion Post 121 Honor Guard: Thank you for providing a deeply moving and flawless tribute. Your presence added the utmost dignity and respect to tonight's ceremony.
Commissioner Tommy Ogden: We greatly appreciate you taking the time to join us, share your support, and stand with the community during this important event.
"Home of the free, because of the brave."
To everyone who attended, helped organize, or paused to reflect with us tonight...thank you. Let us continue to carry the legacy of our fallen heroes in our hearts every single day.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Today is a great reminder that our community is only as beautiful as we make it. Whether it's picking up litter on your morning walk, supporting a local park, or just enjoying the fresh air, every small act helps keep our home green. Let’s take care of our little corner of the world today and every day! 🌱

Remember, if you pack it in, pack it out!

Several weeks ago, we issued a communication regarding the Gas Valley Park pavilion. We regret to inform you that recent storm activity in March caused significant damage to the pavilion. As a result, the structure was deemed unsafe and necessitated removal. Effective immediately, and until further notice, pavilion rentals at Gas Valley Park are suspended. We will provide updates as we progress through the rebuilding process. Thank you!
