Here’s a recap of last week’s Open House! We can’t thank our attendees enough for showing up and bringing so much enthusiasm for our Call for Events, which closes on October 22nd.

Our team loved having the chance to share more about our 2027 theme, “Home Grown,” answer submission questions, introduce our new Hub (the central space where most programming will take place during Design Week), and connect with our community.

Special thanks to Bell & McCoy Tennessee Lighting and Controls for hosting us in their beautiful showroom, and to Darlin’ Bakehouse for providing the baked goods!

For ten years, Nashville Design Week has convened our design community to elevate local outcomes, foster cross-disciplinary learning, and strengthen design practice across our city.

Our theme for Design Week 2027 is Home Grown.

It’s celebratory and it’s rooted. It’s about holding on to what makes Nashville special in a moment of enormous growth, and about the seeds being planted right now that shape the city we are building for tomorrow. For Nashville’s design community, what will you contribute to the next chapter of our city’s design story?

The branding for the week is inspired by Tennessee folk art quilts, drawn from traditions rich in the history of craftsmanship. Blended with the notion of growth through organic lines and details, the foundational branding elements are built to be tiled, stacked, and repeated. This playful layering represents how a design culture grows over time. 

April 8-11. Ten years of Nashville Design Week.
