Shinedown Nation....... tonight at midnight our eighth album on Atlantic records comes out ...
It took over a year and a half to make ... and it's 4 years since our last record
Always a weird time. You've lived with these songs for so long and they were only yours and your buddies..
And now they belong to all of you ... it's hard not to be a bit precious about wether that's pretentious or not ... I don't know
Wether it's our best work or not .. I don't know that either. . . That's relative to every individual
I can say .... as a body of work it's up there with anything else we've done if not the best from my point of view
It's sonically the most impressive thing we've done .... and that's at the hands of my friend and bass player and producer and mixer and engineer and general perfectionist Eric Bass ..... never in my life have I seen any band member in ANY band work to this level of work ethic, skill and intensity.. know this. Not just from a producer stand point this record wouldn't be where it is without Eric... we make the joke he drives himself insane doing this ... and he does.. but chaos makes beautiful art
And this is ours..... remember when any artist shows you something.. what a special moment.. something they created that didn't exist before they created it (so much for not being precious huh?).. I hope this record makes you feel something ... we all felt

Writing it, making it, living with it
There's loss, there's hope, there's desperation, there's fun, there's redemption
Art is relative and subjective
But this is ours... and now it's yours
