KEVIN BLACK – West Virginia

Full-time chainsaw artist since 2003.

Over two decades in the sawdust.
Shows and festivals from Mississippi to Michigan.
Missouri to Maine.

Kevin has carved just about everything — but trucks and heavy machinery are among his favorite subjects. Precision. Power. Mechanical detail.

He works primarily in White Pine and Hemlock — woods that reward control and clean lines.

He resides in West Virginia with his wife, Shade, and daughters, Fern and Willow.

Joining Brown County Sawdust Days & Shenanigans 2026:

DEREK RICHARDSON – Kentucky

Kentucky born and raised.
Artist at heart since childhood.

Derek started carving in 2015 as a hobby with his father-in-law. At that point, he had barely run a chainsaw in his life.

He balanced a full-time job and volunteering with two local fire departments — sacrificing time at home to serve others.

In September 2023, he made the leap.

Full-time chainsaw artist.

Now traveling to shows and competitions across the country, supported by his wife and three kids, Derek is building the life he once thought wasn’t possible — doing what he loves for a living.

And chasing that example for his children.

JENNY TANNER – Marshfield, Missouri

A lifelong artist who discovered chainsaw carving over a decade ago.

It started with her husband showing her how to start a saw.
She never looked back.

Twelve years later, she’s still carving — and plans to keep carving as long as she can.

That kind of dedication shows in the wood.

⚙️ AMANDA – Lynnville, Indiana

Self-taught. Three years in the sawdust.
Full-time with the Warrick County Highway Department.
Mom of two wild boys.
Supported by a hardworking husband who backs the vision.

Chainsaw carving wasn’t expected — but it became a calling.

Amanda’s work is rooted in a deep respect for nature. As an outdoor enthusiast and hunter, her connection to wildlife goes beyond the surface. Every piece aims to capture the beauty of the Earth and bring people closer to it.
