What I would tell you if we sat down for coffee or got on a call and you were in the mist of postpartum. I would give you a hug, let you unload and tell you I see you. Along with all these things! 🥰🥰

Cluster feeding is one of the most common reasons parents worry something is “wrong” around week 2 — when in reality, something is going right.

From a clinical and postpartum care lens, frequent feeding in the early weeks supports:
• growth
• nervous system regulation
• milk supply signaling
• attachment and safety

This phase can feel intense and exhausting, especially when you’re already depleted — but it is developmentally appropriate and temporary.

If you’re unsure, always zoom out and look at the full picture: diapers, weight gain, and how baby recovers after feeds — not the clock.

You’re not alone in this 🤍

Save this for the 2–3 week window or send it to a new parent who needs reassurance.

This is a gentle sleep tip that you can work on with your infant during the day to help them start to connect sleep cycles in a non-cry it out way.

If your baby starts to cry (give 1 minute to see if they go back to sleep) if they don’t and they cry harder go in and soothe.

Babies aren’t meant to self soothe when they are crying but if they are just awake chilling in their crib and nap was short, see if they will soothe themselves back to sleep!

Pa every baby is different. This might work and it might not but the more you try it and get baby used to being awake in their crib during nap time, then hopefully get used to soothing back to sleep when they wake up midnap!

Again every baby is different! Follow your babies cues!

Understanding what’s happening in your body can be incredibly grounding.

Postpartum isn’t weakness — it’s physiology.

When it comes to newborn sleep, it’s not about routines but more about baby cues and having sleep rhythms.

Here are some ideas I share with my clients to help build healthy sleep habits….

1. If it’s bedtime,, start to whined down the house, turn down lights, lessen noise.
2. Try feed baby in darker places if feeding before sleep (nap or bedtime)
3. Have them sleep in the same spot. And have it be in a dark place. Babies don’t have their days & nights figured out yet. We need to help teach them this.
4. Swaddle nice and cozy.
5. Sound machine to help drown out noice. Can use all different types of sounds on the machine.
6. Contact naps as much as you want. Babies at this age need you for regulation and honestly for comfort.

Reminder:::::: babies aren’t meant to be sleeping thru the night at this stage. It’s not biologically normal yet! But we can create healthy sleep habits to help them sleep better!
