You are a group of musicians and producers trying to make art under an authoritarian regime’s censorship. Listen to and curate protest music, and talk about the impact music can have when performed. Shape your character’s story as you navigate the consequences of state censorship, grapple with the specter of self-censorship, and try to stay true to your artistic vision and your ideals–or perhaps change them, in the face of your experiences. Can you collectively organize a resistance strong enough to speak out against the Regime?

🗓️ Saturday June 13, noon to 5 pm

In Ready, Set, Switch! groups of players take turns playing the same character while multiple scenes play out in parallel, to explore some of the feelings and experiences, both negative and positive, that arise from discovering you exist in a plural system. How are you supposed to meet your goals, make friends, build relationships, when you’re missing out on 2/3rds of your own life?

“My partner is immunocompromised and I want to participate in life and events as much as we can without endangering them. I’ve met a lot of people through masked events that I never would have connected with if I hadn’t made that choice. And because it’s ultimately something people do to protect the vulnerable people in their community, I find the people who do this are considerate and thoughtful around other needs as well.”—Behind the is Alex who posed for a documentary project Julie Lam 📸+ ✍🏼 initiated for at a Make a Scene event.
