New Album UNtraditional coming Summer 2026

The Diddley Idols are the New York based dynamic musical duo, Dave Barckow (Queens, NYC) and Louise Barry (Dublin, Ireland) with the full band sound. A chance encounter and undeniable chemistry led to the formation of the World Record holding “The Diddley Idols” in 2013.

As two lead vocalists, the addition of Dave’s unique foot operated drum kit and guitar and Louise’s ukulele and one of a kind melodic percussion prove that “great things really do come in small packages!”

A “live tour de force” , their high octane mix of pop and Irish traditional tunes and all the party rock you can handle will have you singing and dancing all night long. Dave’s energy and ability to chat to anyone make him a crowd favourite, while you can often find professional dancer Louise doing a step anywhere there's space. Preferably on top of a bar.

There is no other way to begin this message than to thank our Mid-America teachers, dancers, and families for your patience, your support, and to acknowledge all of the stress, anxiety, and disappointment you have undoubtedly been experiencing.

This was not an easy Oireachtas - the understatement of the year. Your IDTAMA Executive Board and your Oireachtas chair, Alyssa Harling, have been working diligently throughout the audit process to provide all of our dancers and teachers with the transparency in results that you deserve.

To my Executive Board colleagues, thank you. I am incredibly proud to be able to serve alongside you and to be part of this region. We also want to take a moment to thank and acknowledge QuickFeis not only for their hard work on the audit in the midst of the holiday season, but also for joining us in Milwaukee to tabulate Sunday’s competitions. We could not have managed through the last month without them.

This morning at 8am CT, we released the audited results of Friday and Saturday’s competitions on the IDTAMA website.

Previously, we contacted individual teachers whose dancers have a different result in the audited final results from what was originally presented at the awards ceremonies on Friday or Saturday. The placements in teams and adult solo competitions announced on Saturday align with the audited results.

We acknowledge the heartbreak that may come upon review of the audited results for many dancers, parents, and teachers. As a board, we are aggrieved for the pain and disappointment that dancers and teachers may feel. No one deserves to be presented with inaccurate results at any competition, let alone a qualifying event. We are truly and deeply sorry.

We all deserve and should expect transparency, accuracy, and fairness in Irish dancing.

The board has faith in the audited results we are presenting, and can only apologize and acknowledge the frustration, disappointment, and pain that this Oireachtas caused for so many.

Again, thank you for the kindness, helpfulness, and enormous patience you have shown both at the Oireachtas and in its aftermath. We are grateful.
