🥂💫🍾 After 14 incredible years, Midnight on Main announces that it has taken its final bow. 🍾 💫🥂
Since that very first ball dropped on Main Street for New Year’s Eve 2011, Downtown Midland became THE place to bundle up, dance the night away (sometimes in the streets, sometimes at Dow Diamond), raise a glass, and countdown to midnight with friends old and new.
For more than a decade, we’ve shared countless cheers, auld lang synes, champagne toasts, and fireworks that lit up both the sky and our spirits. We estimate that nearly 100,000 revelers have joined in over the past 14 years — proving that even on the coldest Michigan nights, Midland knows how to throw one warm, unforgettable party.
Whether the party was outside on the street or indoors at Dow Diamond, Midnight on Main grew into a massive community celebration — one that required an extraordinary amount of coordination, staffing, and support. With the event landing on a major holiday and often unfolding in the heart of Michigan’s coldest winters, it’s become increasingly difficult to gather the people and resources needed to produce it safely and in the spirit that makes the Great Lakes Bay Region proud.
To those first originating members of Midnight on Main who imagined this event and made it happen — Heidi McIvor Allen, David Kell, Selina Harris, Blain Anderson, Bill Anderson, Jennifer Brick, Kim Dunn, Josh Maurer, Chris Mundhenk, Marcie Post, Susan Putnam, and Breaha Wallin — and to the dedicated partners who made it shine every year since: Jim Paetschow and the Sound Productions crew, the Dow Diamond team led by Chris Mundhenk, Bierlein Construction and their fearless ball-drop experts, the City of Midland Downtown Development Authority, and the many sponsors, vendors, musicians, volunteers, and workers who brought their energy (and sometimes their mittens) to the event year after year — we thank you.
As we close the curtain on this chapter, we do so with full hearts and endless gratitude for everyone who helped make the magic happen. Thank you, Midland, for the memories, the laughter, and the midnight moments we’ll never forget.

🥂 NYE 2014 - Midnight on Main moved to the East End area of Main Street .
