🎙️ ARTIST SPOTLIGHT 🚨
The Inspirationals Quartet of Texas has been a significant presence in gospel music since its inception in 1958, known for years as "Bob Wills & The Inspirationals." The group was managed by Bob Wills, who led it to prominence with a cast of highly talented vocalists. These artists have included notable names like Curtis Elkins, Jim Murray, and Roger McDuff singing tenor; Dale Shipley, Larry Gatlin, Jim Wesson, Jory Walden, and Gary MacSpadden as lead singers; and bass singers such as Big John Hall, Ray Burdett, and Jim Tucker. Each member has left an indelible mark on gospel music, contributing to the group's rich heritage.
Continuing this legacy, Bob Wills' sons have taken up the mantle. Bob Jr. serves as the Musical Director, Don brings his deep bass tones to the ensemble, and Ron adds his rich baritone voice while also acting as the group's emcee. The tradition of exceptional tenor singers is maintained by John Rulapaugh, known for his full tones and storytelling through song.
After more than five decades of faithful service, Ralph Green, who began with the group in 1972, has retired from his role as lead singer. The torch has now been passed to Scott Brand, a gifted vocalist with a rich history in gospel music. Scott, alongside Bryan Elliott, whose unparalleled skills as a pianist have become a hallmark of the group, and Bob Jr., Don, Ron, and John, upholds the high standards set by their predecessors. Together, they continue to make a significant impact in the world of gospel music. Their collaboration and dedication to their craft ensure that the legacy of "Bob Wills & The Inspirationals" continues to resonate with audiences, both old and new, maintaining the group's prominent position in gospel music history.
The Inspirationals of Texas will appear on Thursday, June 18 at 6:00pm. Also appearing; Mark Trammell Quartet, LeFevre Quartet, Tribute Quartet, and the Apostolic Boys
