The Kitchen will be selling smash burgers twice this weekend! You can find us this Friday, September 11, 5-8pm at Idle Hands in Malden, and at the Victorian Fair this Sunday, Sept 13, 11am-4pm in front of Hugo’s selling
Smash Patties of course, Beer B Que Pulled Pork with cornbread, Dubai Chocolate Whoopie Pies, S’mores cookies, “cider donut” Snickerdoodles, Pumpkin Pie Brownies, Popping Boba Jello Cups, Fresh Cranberry Lemonade and take home some housemate Pumpkin Spiced Granola for next weeks breakfast……. We’ll also have some fun temp tattoos to hand out.

I wanted to poll the community to see if there would be an interest in us doing our cafe hours again for the fall, winter, and spring. We are investing in an espresso machine and can do some fun drinks, breakfast, and lunch items to go-or can sit and eat. This would not be a collab so unfortunately we won’t have bread to sell, but we can offer our signature breakfast sandwiches, tasty lunch items and treats. I feel like there aren’t a ton of options in the West Wyoming area and we have the capacity to offer it again. Thoughts?

This evening, Aug 11, 6pm we are doing a free or pay what you can Cooking for a Cause class at The Kitchen . The group will make 100-150 meals that will be donated to the Melrose Community Freezer (The Food Drive) and the Food Link (services the Boston area) for those facing food insecurities in our communities.

In addition, we just sent out our weekly e-newsletter and several new classes have been posted! Highlights are “The Bear” cooking class, a vegetarian corn focused class with Fork on a Road, kids after school series for the Fall, caregiver and me classes, teen series, and pasta classes. Food pop-ups are being planned out, stay tuned!

Teens were busy baking this week! We have four more weeks of cooking camps and two spots available for the next three weeks! For the week of August 24, we are doing a “chopped” week where teens get creative with their table and come up with their own dishes from a curated bin in a friendly competition cooking camp! 8 spots remaining for that week. Signups still available! Melrose schools begin in September!

What a beautiful evening at the Melrose Summer Stroll (aka one heck of a block party). Thankful for our partnership with Hugo’s hugos_appliances_melrose for enabling us to set up in front of their store front and for hooking us up with another amazing Blackstone to cook our smash burgers on! We now own two! Thank you Melrose Chamber Of Commerce and the DPW for always running a smooth stroll (we are proud members!), thank you all for stopping by and helping us make the evening a success. And a huge thank you to my Chef’s David, Pedro, and Danny for absolutely killing it on the grills. Oh and thank you to my son Solomon for working hard and making sure everyone got the right order! We had an absolute blast…taking a few days to recover from an amazing week of smash burgering!
