Star Ranch 5K Runs

10/04/2026

A huge thank-you to everyone who volunteered at Chilly Cheeks! The weather was perfect, just as Mark, our Star Ranch meteorologist, predicted, and you kept everything running smoothly.

It was great seeing so many people join the games—thanks to the volunteers who got them started! Phil led about 20 people on his walkabout, while our medical team helped keep everyone safe.

Race day takes about 50 volunteer slots to fill. Whether you signed up for two or three jobs or pitched in spontaneously that morning, your generosity means so much. We couldn’t do it without you!

5K Race Weather Update:

Generally speaking, the news is good for Saturday. The heaviest rain here at the Ranch will move through Thursday afternoon and Thursday nigjt. Several inches of rain is likely. Additional heavy rain could redevelop overnight into Friday morning. After the front passes Friday afternoon, we'll see mostly cloudy and cooler conditions with only scattered showers Friday afternoon through Saturday. As for the race itself, 11am temperatures will be in 70s. There could be a few showers in the area, but nothing heavy. Our biggest challenge will be to clean up the race course on Friday to make sure everything is in good shape for the runners on Saturday.
