Annual McDade Rabies Vaccination Clinic sponsored by Faith Lutheran Church scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020 has been CANCELLED. Because these vaccines are only effective for one year, Bastrop Vet Hospital (BVH) is offering curb service discounted vaccination updates for pets that were given shots at the McDade Rabies Clinic on March 9, 2019. Owners must call 512-321-5386 in advance for an appointment 8:00-4:00 Tuesday, March 31-Friday, April 3. These will be the only dates available for this discounted vaccination event. Owners will remain in their vehicle; pets will receive vaccinations from the vehicle or be taken inside the BVH clinic for these appointments. Vaccination fees are $12 for Rabies; $15 for Distemper for cats or dogs; and $18 for Feline Leukemia.

We’re building a playground for the kids of McDade, TX.
Help us put kids first in McDade by creating a new place for kids to play actively with Bastrop County Cares, McDade ISD, and St. David’s Foundation! The project is in partnership with KaBOOM!, the national nonprofit dedicated to giving kids the childhood they deserve through great, safe places to play. Build Day starts off with volunteers arriving at an empty site. Within hours, KaBOOM! leads volunteers to transform the space into a community-inspired, state-of-the-art playground. Come witness the transformation yourself! You can join as a community volunteer for the entire day or stop by to observe throughout the day.


Prep Day 1:
Thursday, May 2, 2019 - Prep Day 1 (need 40 helpers)
8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. - breakfast/lunch served
Prep Day 2 (if needed):
Friday, May 3, 2019 - Prep Day 2 if needed (need 15)
8:00 a.m. until all prep completed. - breakfast/lunch served
Build Day:
Saturday, May 4, 2019 - Build Day (need 200 helpers!)
7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (team leaders arrive 6:30 a.m. - breakfast/lunch served
