The Woodturning for Beginners course started at the Marshfield Senior Center on Monday Oct 21st. There was quite a bit of interest as folks got to take the lathes for a spin under the guidance of instructors from the Mass South Shore Woodturners. This pilot program will continue Mondays 9 am - noon through December 9th. Registration is required. Contact the Marshfield COA for additional information.

The Senior Center is closed Monday the 14th for the holiday but you can call starting Tuesday morning Oct 15th to register.

The Massachusetts South Shore Woodturners will be demonstrating the craft of woodturning and displaying a variety of turned items for sale (pens, pendants, bottle stoppers, ornaments, boxes, bowls, etc.) just in time for Christmas gift giving. Stop by, say hello and find out more about our organization. You can even give the gift of a 1 year membership (only $50) to that budding crafter on your list. Membership includes monthly 1 on 1 mentoring sessions for turners of all levels from no experience to advanced turners. We can also connect you with one of our skilled turners who specialize in commission work to create a one of a kind piece that you will treasure for years to come.

Handcrafted wood turnings on display and available for sale at the Mass South Shore Audubon 2000 Main Street, Marshfield, MA through Dec 20th. Still time to get a one-of-a-kind gift. Select from a variety of bowls, vases, platters, Christmas ornaments and pendants, etc. A portion of the sales revenue goes to fund the South Shore Wildlife Sanctuary, helping them continue their activities and further their mission.
The gift shop hours are Monday -Friday 9am -4pm; Saturday 10 am - 3pm; closed Sunday.
