Filer Credit Union you are Awesome!

As presenters of the 36th annual Victorian Sleighbell Parade & Old Christmas Weekend, we're looking forward to the horse-drawn carriages, bagpipers, and carolers-all elegantly dressed in Victorian attire, as well as a team of draft horses pulling a 30-foot Christmas tree down historic River Street.

Last year, we truly felt the sense of community in Downtown Manistee ! We also look forward to seeing YOU this Saturday at 530PM!

'Twas the night before Sleighbell, when all through the town,
The lampposts were twinkling, the snow drifting down.
The Civic Players gathered with costumes in tow,
Preparing for magic only Manistee knows.

The stockings of storefronts were trimmed with great care,
In hopes that the parade soon would march there.
Children were nestled in blankets so tight,
Dreaming of horses and torches alight.

Then out by the Vogue, rose a cheer so bright—
“The Sleighbell Parade! It starts tonight!”
Lanterns were glowing down Old Town’s lane,
And bells from the draft horses chimed like a refrain.

The Civic Players marched in costumes so grand,
Waving to neighbors who lined the street’s span.
And as they passed by the light, they called,
“Happy Sleighbell to Manistee—
And to all, a warm winter’s night!”
