Badger Costume Play And Design Guild We are a student organization based out of UW-Madison in Wisconsin. We meet weekly during the school year and are dedicated to encouraging self-expression!

We are a student organization out of UW-Madison in Madison, Wisconsin, founded in October 2012 and going strong since then. Our org is dedicated to encouraging self-expression through costuming of all kinds, including but not limited to: cosplay, period costuming, impersonating, lolita, steampunk, anime, sci-fi, video games, and more! We foster a safe space for costumers of all ages, genders and n

ationalities and encourage learning from each other and improving the skills that we already have as well as learning new ones. Our club meets weekly during the regular school year; the day of the week and the time will be released as new semesters approach! On behalf of the Costume Play and Design Guild, we bring unfortunate news.

Due to new campus and event service policies we are going to have to cancel WiscCon and the Artist Alley this year.

We deeply apologize but are grateful to everyone who showed interest and patience in our planning phases. To give more context we have been working since January to get WiscCon 2026 up and running, but new campus policies have limited or outright disallowed event planning after campus hours, including on weekends. Since we are a student-led and run organization, these new policies made it very difficult to communicate and set up event spaces with the university.

Again we apologize to the late announcement as we ourselves hadn't received much communication until the last minute regarding our planning.

⛰️Calling local Madison artists for WiscCon 2026! 🌊

We're opening applications for artists to fill our Artist Alley at WiscCon 2026! If you or someone you know is interested in selling their art at a local student-run cosplay and fandom convention, please check out the Artist Alley Sign-up form through the Linktree on our profile!

Artists who attend WiscCon 2026 will NOT have to pay for a table or admission, and sign-ups will be closed on April 11th.

If you have any questions, feel free to send us a DM so we can get you situated 🫶

⛰️ Announcing WiscCon 2026! 🌊

We're getting plans rolling and the excitement going with preparations for this year's WiscCon! Join the Costume Play and Design Guild this spring for a day of games, entertainment, cosplay, and supporting local artists and organizations! You can find all of our information, such as location and schedules, as it is put out on the Linktree on our homepage!

This year's theme: Land vs. Sea! Will you choose to side with the whimsical waves or the energetic earth? When you arrive at WiscCon, you will choose a team and can participate in games and events to help your team win!

WiscCon 2026's location and event schedule are yet to be disclosed, so check back in with our announcements as planning continues!

**WiscCon 2026 is only open to University of Wisconsin students and will be held on April 18th from 12PM to 6PM. Entry is $10 at the door and we will be taking cash or digital payments.**
