Every time you come across a kind person,
you are standing before something extraordinary —
an immense effort,
a staggering commitment.

You are looking at someone
who works on themselves constantly,
a laborer of the heart
pulling night shifts on behalf of us all.

You are standing before someone
who never runs away from themselves,
who knows how to bring care
even into their distraction,
who has learned to create silence
when provoked.

Remember —
you are facing a story made of many stories,
long walks through countryside villages
we wouldn’t even know how to pronounce.

You are looking at someone
who does not fear solitude,
who has learned to be alone,
to become an island,
to become their own sun.

Someone who turned their pause
into a lifeline,
and their survival
into an anchor for others.

You are standing before someone
who has met despair face to face
and did not give in to it —
who has come apart from everyone, scattered everywhere,
dependent on no one,
a quiet offering to the world.
