David Godine’s printing and process rare book collection waits In the 1925 Steinway tower that sits nestled in a contrast to the sleek slim skyscraper that houses the rest of their gallery and auction space.
An intimate rotunda allows lighted showcases to dance in a circle, while soft, natural light pools in from a high south facing window - both welcome and unusual aesthetics in the midst of modernist Midtown and Upper Eastside galleries.
The books may be the star, but the crown is the incredible ceiling - alongside Gilded Age flourishes everywhere you look.
