Mayor Craig Greenberg and the Director of the Office for Immigrant Affairs, Amos Izerimana, are special hosts of this year’s Kentucky Derby weekend with a FREE “fiesta” party on Sunday afternoon, May 7th at Cinco de Mayo at 4th Street Live at 2:00 pm In Downtown Louisville! it’s "Cinco Sunday!"—the last day of celebration of the Kentucky Derby & Derby Diversity Week!

DAY OF THE DEAD at FOURTH STREET LIVE!
On Wed., Nov. 2, 2022 from 5-8 pm, the Mayor’s Office for Globalization and The Louisville Latino Council along with the Louisville Downtown Partnership and U of L’s Latin American & Latino Studies are planning El Dia De Los Mu***os Event at Fourth Street Live! https://adhawks.com/day-of-the-dead
The event will have a special presentation of a Day of the Dead Dedication Altar, Face Painting, and special performances by Mexico Lindo Folkloric Dancers and Mariachi Alegre. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in large part because it was a resounding victory over the French when, in 1862, the Mexican Army’s 4,000 defeated the French Army’s 8,000 at the Battle of Puebla, Mexico (which had not known defeat for 50 years). This started the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Celebration in California in 1863—and now it’s celebrated here in Louisville each year as a FREE Family Fiesta at 4th St Live on “Cinco Sunday”—right after The Kentucky Derby!
