C’est officiel ! Le réalisateur, scénariste et producteur sud-coréen Park Chan-wook présidera le Jury des longs métrages en Compétition de la 79e édition du Festival de Cannes 🎬​

Figure majeure du cinéma contemporain, auteur d’une filmographie profondément singulière et inventive, il incarne un cinéma de toutes les audaces : scénaristiques, stylistiques et morales.

Entouré de son jury, ce fidèle de la sélection cannoise déjà lauréat d’un Grand Prix, d’un Prix du Jury et d’un Prix de la mise en scène, désignera la Palme d’or , le samedi 23 mai prochain. ​⭐

It’s official! South Korean director, screenwriter and producer Park Chan-wook will preside over the Feature Film Jury in Competition at the 79th edition of the Festival de Cannes 🎬

A major figure in contemporary cinema, with a deeply distinctive and inventive filmography, he embodies a cinema of boldness — in its storytelling, style, and moral vision.

Surrounded by his jury, this loyal figure of the Cannes selection, already a recipient of the Grand Prix, the Jury Prize, and the Best Director Award, will award the Palme d’Or on Saturday, May 23rd. ⭐

6th edition, 8th edition, 9th edition…
The Festival was not yet ten years old when Brigitte Bardot was already lending it her face. That of a blonde, free-spirited youth, lightly swirling along the beach, offering her coal-dark gaze to photographers fascinated by the insolence of such beauty.
In truth, the woman known by the initials B.B. did not frequent the Palais all that often. Yet her presence was so intensely desired that it left a lasting mark on the history of the Festival. While bathing it in glamour, she also left behind the trace of one of the most memorable upheavals in its history…
Last year, perhaps on that very same beach where the starlet became a legend, Alain Berliner’s documentary Bardot was screened. An opportunity to hear, one last time, the actress’s unmistakable voice reflect on her destiny and her commitments.
Today, as Brigitte Bardot has passed away, the Festival salutes an appearance that, far beyond her visits to Cannes, has left its mark on the imagination of French cinema and society.

Nine works unveiled in World Premiere on the Croisette have earned a total of 24 nominations at the 2026 Golden Globes, across nine of the most coveted categories.
Leading the pack, Valeur sentimentale by Joachim Trier, Grand Prix of the Festival de Cannes, emerges as one of the frontrunners with 8 nominations.
The Palme d’or, the Jury Prize, the Best Director Award, and the Best Actor Award are also in the running.
