š Boleros De Noche⦠The Name āš½
Every project has a beginning, and for us, it started with a name.
When I first began shaping the idea of bringing bolero enthusiasts together, we were already working on flyer conceptsābut we still didnāt have a name for the event. I remember searching online, hearing different suggestions, and trying to find something that felt right.
Looking back now, I realize how lucky we were that it didnāt end up being Noche de Boleros. There are countless events with that nameānot only in Los Angeles, but also in Mexico City, Oaxaca, Chile, Puerto Rico, and many other places.
The name Boleros De Noche appeared around the same time the concept itself was forming. During my search for inspiration, I came across an image of the cover of a film called Bolero de Noche. It caught my attention immediately, and without much hesitation, I decided to run with the idea.
In hindsight, I was also fortunate to add the āsā to Bolero. Had it remained singular, it might have created copyright issues. Sometimes small decisions make a big difference.
Today, Iām grateful that the name Boleros De Noche has taken on a life of its own and continues to carry meaning as a cultural staple in Los Angeles
