📸🎥 New rental alert.
The Perry Probe 24mm T1.4 2X Macro is now available at Apex Photo Studios — in-house and online booking.

This one pulls double duty. Use it for ultra-detailed product and beauty stills, or take it into video for cinematic macro footage that’s genuinely hard to achieve with a standard lens.

The T1.4 aperture gives you that beautiful light control whether you’re on a photo set or rolling camera.

🎬
It also comes with two interchangeable tips — a 0° for straight-on shots and a 90° for angles that would otherwise be nearly impossible to get into. And yes, it’s fully submersible. 💧 So if your shot calls for it, don’t hold back.
Versatile, sharp, and ready to work. Book it through our website today!

9 episodes. 72 hours. 1 turnkey solution. 🎥

When the team (4M+ subscribers) flew into LA from Canada to film “The Icons,” they needed more than just a studio—they needed a specific aesthetic: the “cinematic open space” look inspired by Modern Wisdom.

How we brought it to life in Studio E: ✅ Pre-Production: Remote lighting plots & test shots so the look was locked before they landed. ✅ The Build: moody, high-end cinematic lighting in our large skyline C*C studio. ✅ The Logistics: Fully integrated multi-cam setup, high-speed lines for remote guests, and an in-house teleprompter to maximize downtime.

From international travel to final wrap, we handled the heavy lifting so the creators could focus on the conversation. Hear how their shoot went in the testmonials!

Visit our website and check the news blog for all details regarding this production and please contact us if you need help creating anything, we would be happy to help!

Elegant tech hardware with nature-inspired elements.🌲⚡️
When GIGABYTE brought us a motherboard brief that blended high-performance tech + wood-inspired accents, we built the visuals to match: hero product photography, platform-ready key visuals, lifestyle sets, two commercials, a clean 360 spin, and of course… BTS timelapses to show how it all came together.

Swipe/watch for the final frames → then catch the set build, lighting, and capture workflow behind the scenes.

Want a full product content package like this for your next launch? Let’s build it.

Behind the scenes: a consistent podcast set build we produce every month in SoundProof Studio C.
Two key lights, natural window fill, and a subtle hair light—so the host looks polished and can focus on the conversation, not the camera. 🎙️✨
Need a set? We’ve got pre-made setups, gear rentals, and we can help design a look with our furniture catalog. Check the link in bio.

Want the easiest upgrade to make your set look 10x more expensive?
Add a hair light. ✅ It creates that crisp separation that instantly feels cinematic.
Then level up with ambient color contrast (blue LEDs + warm wood) and a little depth of field (lower f-stop, punch in, 24fps).

01/27/2026

Your podcast can look “pro” with just two lights—if you place them right. 🎥💡
In this short I break down key light + fill light, why I cross-light at 45°, and how fill controls the mood (cinematic + contrast vs bright + inviting).
Save this for your next setup and tell me: are you going for clean or cinematic?

Studio F is too large to understand in a single frame, so we let the camera run 🎥☀️

At 2,100 sq ft, light doesn’t move through this space all at once. Morning sun enters through the east-facing windows and activates different areas at different times—first reaching deep into the room, then slowly pulling back. The scale of the studio changes how the light behaves, not just how it looks.

Pro tip: January morning light in Downtown LA is different. The sun stays lower in the sky, shadows travel farther, and contrast holds longer before softening. Compared to spring or summer, the light feels more controlled and more predictable—especially in the early hours.

This timelapse isn’t about finding the “perfect” moment. It’s about seeing how a large natural-light studio actually unfolds over time, so planning starts before anyone steps on set.

Question: If you walked in at 8am, where would you shoot first—and where would you end up by noon? 👀

We’ll be sharing monthly sunrise-to-sunset timelapses to make light behavior visible, not guessed.

If timing, scale, and natural light matter to your work, Studio F at Apex Photo Studios is designed for that!

50 students. 3 days. Hair education in full swing. 💄🎓
We hosted Aubrey’s Hair Adventures and their incredible group of Japanese exchange students—and helped keep the experience smooth with a large studio setup, blackout curtain support for presentations, and on-site staff when anything popped up.
Want to host your next class in a space that can actually handle it? Let’s talk.

Sunrise to sunset in Studio D. 🌅
Shot on Jan,17th 2026

As an east-facing studio, Studio D receives its strongest natural light in the morning. At sunrise, light enters low and directional, producing long, clean shadows and pronounced texture. As the sun climbs, illumination becomes more even and diffused, reducing contrast and softening shadow edges. By midday, the room shifts into balanced ambient light before tapering off in the afternoon.

This timelapse shows how the light actually behaves—not a styled moment, but a full cycle.

How does the direction and quality of morning light change the way you plan a shoot?

We’re starting monthly timelapses like this for every studio to give a clear, honest reference for light throughout the day.

Book Studio D and experience the morning light in real conditions.
