Llano’s 250th America Celebration

Don’t forget about the Time Capsule Sealing Ceremony which will be at the Llano County Historical Museum at 5:30 pm this Wednesday August 5, 2026. Light refreshments will be served and you will have one last chance to deposit a small photograph, letter or trinket into the time capsule which will be opened on America’s 300th Birthday, July 4, 2076.

The Llano America 250 Time Capsule will on Display at the Llano County Historical Museum through August 5.
Everyone is welcome to stop by the museum and contribute a small photograph, business card, receipt from a local business, or small memento to be included in the time capsule. There will be acid free paper available at the museum for anyone who would like to write a note to the future or draw a picture. Please include first and last name, age and city/state of residence.
The time capsule will be sealed during a ceremony at the museum at 5:30pm on Wednesday August 5, 2026.
The time capsule will be registered with The International Time Capsule Society. It will be stored at the museum until July 4, 2076 at which time the Mayor of Llano will break the seal and open the capsule. The contents will displayed in the Museum.

Children’s Patriotic Parade JULY 4,2026 Badu Park - Line up from 6:15 to 6:30. Judging starts at 6:30 and Parade begins at 7:00. PRIZES!!! Line up under the oak tree to the south of the American Legion Parking Lot.

This mesquite, oak and cedar time capsule box was built by Ken Klein. It will be on display at the American Legion Hall today along with the Patriotic Poster Contest. You are invited to bring a small photograph, a 2026 coin, a receipt from a local business, your business card, or there will be acid free paper available for you to write a message to the future.
The time capsule will be sealed in August after being on display at the museum for a few weeks and will not be opened unless the 300th celebration of the United States on July 4, 2076.
