Education. Nature. Community. The Kentucky Mushroom Festival (KMF) is a community gathering inspired by fungi, nature, and the land-based traditions of Appalachia. What began as a mushroom-focused event has grown into a weekend centered on learning, exploration, and connection to the natural world. Throughout the festival, attendees can participate in guided mushroom and plant walks, educational talks, and hands-on workshops covering topics such as wild foods, herbalism, ecology, and sustainable living. The festival also highlights traditional Appalachian crafts and heritage skills, including demonstrations and workshops in areas such as blacksmithing, woodworking, and other hands-on arts. With camping, music, community, and a vendor village, KMF brings together educators, artisans, foragers, and curious minds to celebrate the forests, culture, and knowledge that shape the Appalachian region.
