Good morning, it's your Uncle Rob.
Yesterday I told you I looked at my life and found I was providing for everybody
except me.
Today I want to go deeper because that realization didn't necessarily feel good.
It felt like betrayal. Self-betrayal.
We confused being needed or useful with being fulfilled. We think if everyone around us is okay, all our obligations and responsibilities, then that means we're going to be okay.
But it doesn't.
Here's the thing, it's not other people's responsibility to see what's draining you.
They think exhaustion is normal.
They think draining yourself for others is love.
They think if you stop, everything falls apart.
But what falls apart when you stop
was never yours to carry alone.
So let me ask you again.
What is your life actually providing for you.
Not for your boss.
Not for your family.
Not for everyone who needs something from you.
But for you?
Uncle Rob
