Good morning, it's your Uncle Rob.

Yesterday I told you I looked at my life and found I was providing for everybody
except me.

Today I want to go deeper because that realization didn't necessarily feel good.

It felt like betrayal. Self-betrayal.

We confused being needed or useful with being fulfilled. We think if everyone around us is okay, all our obligations and responsibilities, then that means we're going to be okay.

But it doesn't.

Here's the thing, it's not other people's responsibility to see what's draining you.

They think exhaustion is normal.
They think draining yourself for others is love.
They think if you stop, everything falls apart.

But what falls apart when you stop
was never yours to carry alone.

So let me ask you again.

What is your life actually providing for you.

Not for your boss.
Not for your family.
Not for everyone who needs something from you.

But for you?

Good morning, it's your Uncle Rob.

We talk about time like it's a renewable resource.

But it's not.

"When you give something your time, you're giving it a piece of your life."

Not a piece of your schedule.
A piece of your life.

The resentment you feel in certain meetings. The exhaustion from obligations you never should have accepted.

The years that passed while you waited for the right moment to build what you actually wanted.

That's not wasted time.

That's wasted life.

You can't buy it back.
You can't work harder to recover it.

"Be more intentional about what gets the next pieces of your life."

What are you giving your life to today that actually deserves it?

Even when your mouth doesn't.

What does yours say about you.

Good afternoon, it's your Uncle Rob.

When's the last time you actually stopped
and looked at your life.

Not the version you tell people.
Not the version you post.
but the real one.

I did that recently.
And here's what I found.

I had built a life that was providing.
Providing for everybody.
except me.

The work was getting done.
The bills were getting paid.
Other people were getting what they needed.
but I was draining myself to keep it all going
and calling it success.

Here's the thing:
you can be busy building a life
and still be building in the wrong direction.

So I'm going to ask you what I had to ask myself.

Are you getting what you desire
out of the life you're building every day.

Are you even building in the right direction.

Why are you doing what you're doing.
and is it going to get you to a life
you'll be happy with.

Most people won't look
because they already know the answer.
but the answer isn't the problem.
refusing to look is the problem.

Good morning, it's your Uncle Rob.

Everybody has priorities.

And most people can tell you exactly what they are.

Family.
Health.
Financial independence.
Personal growth.
The people they love.

But when you look at their calendar.

The calendar tells a completely different story.

"Don't just know what's important to you. Show me your calendar."

Not what you intended.
Not what you planned.
What you actually gave your time to this week.

Your calendar is the most honest thing about you.

It doesn't care what you said.
It records what you did.

If what you see on that calendar doesn't match what you say is important, you don't have a priority problem.

You have a decision problem.

What does your calendar say about you right now?

Good morning, it's your Uncle Rob.

Every minute you spend on something is a minute of your life you gave away.

Not your time.
Your life.

We don't think about it that way.
But we should.

"Time isn't like money. You can't make more time."

That meeting you didn't need to attend.
The obligation you said yes to when you meant no. The scroll that ate your Tuesday.

None of it returns.

You can't bill for wasted hours, and you can't get them back.

But you can decide what to do with the ones in front of you.

What are you giving your life to this week.

Happy Monday.

Sunday morning.

Faith is not the absence of doubt. It is the decision to keep building while the doubt is still there, because your belief, your cause, and your mission is stronger.

Some weeks your progress will be visible. Some weeks you'll work like hell and with no results. Both are seasons of the same path.

The roots go deeper before the tree gets taller.

Rest today. Show up tomorrow with everything you have.

Good morning, it's your Uncle Rob.

Take a look around.

Random Violence. Accidents. Natural disasters. Wars. People leave home in the morning with plans for tomorrow and tomorrow never comes.

Our existence is a lot more delicate than we'd like to admit.

But most of us still live like we've got forever.

We put off trips.

We postpone dreams.

We keep saying we're going to spend more time with the people we love.

We stay in situations we know we've outgrown.

We give hours of our lives to s**t that doesn't matter while the things that supposedly matter most keep getting pushed to "someday."

Here's the thing:

Either you live your life like it's going to end one day or you don't.

But it will end either way.

Somewhere between today and that day, you will run out of time to LIVE.

Not work.

Not pay bills.

Not scroll through your phone.

but to LIVE.

That's why I keep talking about taking control of your time.

Time isn't like money. You can make more money. You can't make more time.

So look at your calendar. Look at where your hours are going. Look at the people and experiences you keep postponing.

Then ask yourself:

If I knew how much time I had, would I still be spending my life this way?

Happy Saturday.

Discipline isn't a personality trait. It's a decision you make every day before the excuses come.

The people who win long term aren't always the most talented. They're the ones who show up consistently when nothing is forcing them to.

You don't rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.

Build the system. Trust the system.

Show up anyway.

Rule III of Uncle Rob's Rules: Set Your Standard of Living.

Not the one your peers have. Not the one your industry projects. Yours, based on your values, your priorities, and what you are actually trying to build.

Most professionals build lifestyle first and then try to generate enough income to support it. That is a formula for staying on a treadmill indefinitely. Income chases lifestyle. Lifestyle expands. The gap never closes.

Rule III flips that. You decide, intentionally, what standard you want to live at and then you design your income, decisions, and time to support that standard.

When your standard is set by you, every financial decision becomes simple.

Does this support the standard? Does it advance it? Or does it compromise it?

Your standard of living should be yours. Not dictated by debt, comparison, or default.

What standard are you actually living by right now?
