Transforms the park into a winter wonderland! We are seeking the support of local businesses and individuals to make this dream a reality.

The Lanesboro Legion Lights is an outdoor holiday lights display at Sylvan Park in Lanesboro, MN on every night from 5:00-11:00 pm Thanksgiving through New Years. Lanesboro, known for its quaint charm and vibrant community spirit, has the opportunity to become a beacon of holiday cheer in Southeastern Minnesota with the introduction of Legion Lights, an outdoor city holiday light display at Sylvan Park from Thanksgiving through New Year’s. This initiative will not only illuminate our park but also boost local commerce and strengthen our community bonds. We are proud to have the Henry M. Guttormson Post #40 American Legion of Lanesboro as our esteemed naming sponsor, whose involvement underscores the value, commitment to our community and high standards of our initiative. Their support has significantly elevated our project's profile, and we are eager to collaborate with additional partners who share our vision and for this holiday lights display to help bring our community together during the holiday season to have this become a focal point for our community gatherings during this time fostering connection and camaraderie among residents. • Transform Sylvan Park in Lanesboro into a winter wonderland.
• Attract visitors from neighboring towns and cities.
• Provide a festive, family-friendly attraction for residents.

Roger and Helen had deep roots in Lanesboro and a wonderful love for their family and community. Whether it was cheering on the Burros, enjoying local celebrations, or simply being part of small-town life, Lanesboro was a special place to them. ❤️

🎄✨ Christmas Is Coming to Lanesboro! ✨🎄

Can you believe we’re already into October? Christmas will be here before we know it, and there’s lots of fun coming up in our little town!

We’ve been busy behind the scenes with Legion Lights, and there are so many wonderful things to look forward to this holiday season. So get those calendars out! 🎅🎄

🎄 Wednesday, November 25: Our beautiful Bluff Tree will light up the bluff once again! And the Legion Lights holiday displays in Sylvan Park will be shining bright too!

✨ Saturday, November 28: Experience the Magic of Lanesboro! A fun-filled day of holiday shopping, the Holly Jolly Holiday Market, wagon rides, family activities, and so much more! And don’t miss the lighted Christmas Parade that evening, followed by Santa and Mrs. Claus, s’mores, hot chocolate, and plenty of Christmas cheer at Sylvan Park!

🎅🍻 Friday, December 11: The annual Legion Lights Santa Pub Crawl! And guess what? That’s exactly TWO MONTHS from today! Time to start getting those Santa suits ready because this is always such a fun night!

And that’s just a little of what’s coming up!

We’re so grateful for all the businesses, organizations, families, and individuals who continue to support Legion Lights. It’s that wonderful community spirit that helps make Christmas in Lanesboro so special! ❤️

🎣❄️ A very special THANK YOU to the Lanesboro Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament for their generous Candy Cane Level contribution to Legion Lights! 🎄❤️

For years, this tournament brought family, friends, and neighbors together for some winter fun, all while supporting our community and honoring the memories of three special young men, Blake Overland, Matthew Erickson, and Andrew Kingsbury.

What a wonderful tradition it became, and what an amazing amount of good came from the hard work and generosity of the people who made it happen!

Although the tournament has now come to an end, I’m so happy to see that the giving hasn’t stopped! The folks behind this special event are continuing to share what they’ve raised with organizations like Legion Lights, and that says so much about the spirit of this community. ❤️

🎭🎄 A big thank you to Commonweal Theatre Company! 🎄🎭

How great is it that a town our size has a professional theatre like Commonweal right here in our community? We are so lucky to have them and so grateful for their Candy Cane level contribution to Legion Lights! ❤️

The talent on that stage is incredible, and many of the actors and theatre professionals who make it all happen are also part of our community. They put on wonderful shows, bring people to Lanesboro and add so much to our town.

And what a fun combination during the holidays! This year Commonweal is presenting The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley. Come see a great show, enjoy Legion Lights, grab some dinner and make a night of it! 🎭🎄✨
