“The thing I hate the most and that gets in the way of my process is those lights that can fall on me and have to make sure they’re plugged in and that at the cords are out of the way. The whole concept of the XLumen has saved me a lot of hassle. The setting I go to the most is the high warm. I love warm lighting as most of my tattoos are warm I just love the effect it gives.”

Stoked we got our dear friend gabriel godinez in the chair to talk about his experience with the Freddy Negrete x Curved Pressed Mag Series. Here, Gabriel discusses what he looks for in a needle and why he enjoys the Pressed Mags.

“I work very deliberately and I try to make sure everything gets put in. I don’t build up values, I just wanna put it in and move on, and I feel these needles do that, especially in the smaller groupings. I still do a lot of animals, but one of the things I’m trying to play with more is are smaller portraits and needed something a little more precise. Before I kinda struggled with the smaller groupings and over working the skin in tight areas, and I feel like that where these Freddy Negrete x are shining a little bit more for me.”

The response to this year’s Power Wand Advanced Artist Series has been humbling. We’re grateful for a chance to work alongside some of the world’s most talented tattoo artists, each bringing their own vision of a perfect machine to life.
