Salty Catch Update -
After several successful years of the Salty Catch, it was truly amazing to see the vision come to life, and that wouldn't have been possible without the help of great family, friends, volunteers, anglers, and sponsors. At the peak of Salty Catch, we had over 300 anglers participating and hundreds more show up to support the anglers for the Kick-off Party and on Weigh-in Day. Community involvement is a vital part to make this work. We've felt the lack of support since covid and all the hurricane damage, and it's not sustainable to continue on at this time.
Due to the lack of participation and community support, the decision has been made to cancel Salty Catch in its 8th year.
It has truly been an honor bringing the community together for this event and it was a great run while it lasted. I can't say thank you enough to those who have been a part of Salty Catch. This is not goodbye forever because you never know what the future holds, so I'll say farewell for now. In the meantime, Happy Fishing!
The History of Salty Catch -
The Salty Catch Fishing Rodeo was founded in 2015 by Crystal LaFosse, who has also owned and operated other fishing tournaments in Louisiana and Florida over the years. The vision for Salty Catch was to bring back the fishing rodeo format from the 1970's and 80's, getting the entire community involved in the festivities. Growing the Salty Catch brand from its infancy, The Salty Catch became a community staple and an annually anticipated community event. Over the years, LaFosse has awarded nearly $130,000 in cash and prizes for Salty Catch and over $650,000 with other branded tournaments as well as donated over $35,000 to charity.
Wishing y'all calm seas & all the best,
Crystal LaFosse
