🎣 Colossal Academy Jacksonville is bringing our homeschool fishing and boating program to the Florida Panhandle! 🚤

They currently have a student traveling all the way from the Panhandle to Jacksonville to participate in our program! That got us thinking… why not create an opportunity for homeschool students closer to home?

They’ve connected with an amazing local captain in the Panama City / Port St. Joe area who has spent his career working with youth and is excited about helping us bring this experience to the Panhandle!

Now they just need THREE more students to get the boat going! 🙌

🐟 Two Mondays per month

🚤 Inshore and offshore fishing experiences

🎣 Hands-on instruction in fishing, boating, navigation, marine conservation, and real-world skills

💰 Cost: $450 per month or $1,200 per quarter

🎓 Step Up scholarships accepted! They’re an approved direct-pay provider.

🎣 Homeschool Fishing & Boating is officially underway!

Our new weekday groups started this week with Captain Wayne Senteno of Jax Fishing Charters, and we have room for a few more students to join us!

This isn’t just a fishing trip. Students spend two mornings each month, from 8:00–12:00, out on the boat with Captain Wayne, leaving from Jax Beach and learning through actual experience.

They’ll build skills in fishing techniques and responsible angling, boating safety and equipment, navigation, tides and weather, local waterways, marine conservation and fish identification — along with teamwork, boat care, and even an introduction to the charter-fishing business.

The program is designed especially for homeschool middle and high school students who learn best by doing — and who would rather spend a morning learning on the water than sitting behind a desk. 🚤

Current openings:
🎣 Mondays — ages 12–14
🎣 Tuesdays — ages 15–17

Students can enroll by the month or quarter, and Step Up scholarship funds are accepted.

If you have a homeschooler who loves fishing, boating, the outdoors — or just needs more opportunities for hands-on, real-world learning — message us for details!

Homeschool students can now join Colossal Academy’s hands-on Fishing and Boating Program! 🎣

Twice each month, students spend Wednesday mornings on the water with Captain Wayne of Jax Fishing Charters. They will develop real-world skills in fishing, boating safety, navigation, tides and weather, marine conservation, fish identification, boat care, teamwork, and the charter-fishing business.

Students interested in eventually pursuing a captain’s license can also begin gaining experience and documented time on the water that may support future U.S. Coast Guard sea-service requirements.

📅 Two Wednesdays each month
⏰ 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
🗓 Enroll by the month or quarter
🎓 Step Up scholarship funds accepted
📍 Offered through Colossal Academy Jacksonville
