Welcome Etta McPhaul to the BOMA & Mississippi Hall of Fame Executive Leadership Team

The Best of Mississippi Awards, LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Etta McPhaul as Treasurer / Finance & Reporting Chair, serving both the Best of Mississippi Awards Executive Committee and the Mississippi Hall of Fame Executive Committee.

Etta brings an extensive background in accounting, auditing, financial management, and organizational operations. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Jackson State University and a Master of Business Administration from Millsaps College. She is also a Certified Project Manager and Certified Project Supervisor through the State of Mississippi. ETTA MCPHAUL RESUME.docx

Her professional experience includes 20 years as an Accounting Department Comptroller with the Hinds County Tax Collector’s Office, 19 years as an Auditor III with the Mississippi State Department of Mental Health, and experience as an Income Tax Auditor with the Internal Revenue Service. She has also owned and operated an accounting and tax preparation business for 26 years. ETTA MCPHAUL RESUME.docx

Etta also brings something especially valuable to this appointment: eight years of firsthand experience serving as our CPA/Accountant. She understands our history, our work, and the importance of establishing sound financial practices as we continue to grow.

As Treasurer / Finance & Reporting Chair, Etta will provide leadership in financial oversight and reporting, budgeting, financial accountability, event financial planning, and the development of sound financial procedures for BOMA and the Mississippi Hall of Fame.

Her appointment will also provide an important financial connection between our two Executive Committees as we prepare for the 2027 Best of Mississippi Awards Celebration and Mississippi Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
