Diego's Artisan Chocolate

Diego's Artisan Chocolate Mayan-made, bean to bar chocolate produced and packaged on the shores of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. This adds to the carbon footprint of the chocolate industry.

Providing meaningful employment in our town and above fair trade prices to cacao farmers. Our family continues a tradition of making chocolate that stretches back for thousands of years. Our Mayan ancestors understood the importance of the cacao tree, much as we do today. Using recipes learned from my grandmother and made only in small batches, we produce a chocolate bar unlike any that you’d like

ly find elsewhere. We source all of our beans from small-scale family farmers who grow their crops (organically though currently without certification) a relatively short distance away, giving you a chocolate bar made from only the freshest and most high quality of beans. On the other hand, most chocolate is made in places far away from where the beans are grown. For those not lucky enough to live where cacao trees grow, Diego’s Artisanal Chocolate is about as ‘local’ as you can get – from farmer, to chocolate maker, to you. Our customers' purchases help us hire more employees and continue paying competitive price to our parter-farmers for their cacao.
