(COLSON, KENTUCKY) Recent heavy rainfall - with more wet weather on the way this evening - has forced track officials at Hidden Hollow Speedway to cancel Thursdayโ€™s (May 7) Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by GoSunoco program. The $5,053 to win โ€˜Coal Miners Classicโ€™ will not be rescheduled as part of the Spring Nationals tour, but officials are looking at the possibility of making up the race later in the year with the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series, which is also a Ray Cook Promotion.

Despite losing the weekend opener at Hidden Hollow Speedway due to inclement weather, the Spring Nationals shows at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky and Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on May 8-9 are still ON as scheduled! Six series races have escaped the wrath of Mother Nature so far this year and five different drivers - Brandon Overton, Chris Madden, Garrett Smith, Dale McDowell, and Hudson Oโ€™Neal - have claimed victories. Defending Spring Nationals Champion Garrett Smith brings the series point lead into the Bluegrass State looking for his second straight $10,053 championship title.

The 18th Annual โ€˜John Bradshaw Memorialโ€™ will take center stage on Friday evening at the legendary Ponderosa Speedway. The Super Late Models will be gunning for a $7,553 top prize and will be joined on the program by the Crate Late Models ($1,200 to win), Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,000 to win), and Crown Vics ($400 to win). The pit gates will swing open at 4:00pm and the grandstands will open an hour later at 5:00pm. The drivers meeting is slated for 7:00pm with hot laps to follow.

Grandstand admission at Ponderosa will be $30.00 for adults and FREE for kids ages 12 and under. A pit pass will be $45.00 for adults, $20.00 for kids ages 6-12, and FREE for children ages 5 and under. Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane in Junction City, Kentucky. More information on the track can be accessed by calling 859-537-3056 or by logging onto www.ponderosaspeedway.net.

The weekend will then wrap up in a big way on Saturday with the $10,053 to win โ€˜Johnny Wheeler Memorialโ€™ at Lake Cumberland Speedway. Along with the Super Late Models on the card will be Pro Late Model ($1,531 to win), Modified ($1,031 to win), Hobby Stock ($531 to win), Mini Stock ($531 to win), and Crown Vic ($531 to win) classes. The gates will open at 2:00pm with the drivers meeting scheduled for 6:00pm and hot laps to follow.

Grandstand admission at Lake Cumberland will be $30.00 for adults and FREE for kids ages 10 and under. A pit pass will be $45.00 for adults, $20.00 for kids ages 6-10, and FREE for children ages 5 and under. Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 360 Racetrack Road in Burnside, Kentucky. The track phone number is 606-341-1228 or learn more about the facility online at www.lcspeedway.net.

Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. Additional rules including engine and weight rules can be found online at www.southernnationalsseries.com. The Super Late Model entry fee will be $120 at each venue. If you canโ€™t make it out to the track this weekend, we invite you to watch every lap of Spring Nationals competition LIVE on FloRacing.
