The Mercer County Tourist Commission is excited to announce a new community gathering space coming to Downtown Harrodsburg!

The Lawn on Main will be a place to relax, connect, and enjoy all that downtown has to offer, featuring food trucks, live music, lawn games, outdoor seating, community events, and more.

Our goal is to create a welcoming space where locals and visitors can gather, support local businesses, and make memories together.

🌟Monday Memories …🌟

The Divine House was located on Bondville Road and was an example of the dogtrot plan which combines two “pens” under one roof with a central open space between two pens. The passages, or dogtrot, provides circulation between the two living units. Some log houses were originally built in the dogtrot form, while others resulted from expansion of single-pen houses. In the Divine House, the dogtrot was enclosed with weatherboarding.

I don’t think this house is still there. Does anyone know for sure? Photos from the Armstrong Archives (dates unknown) and Mercer County Public Library History Research Center.
