π΄ SLEEP IS YOUR SECRET WEAPON π΄
Young players can eat all the right foods β but without enough sleep, the body can't use them. Sleep is when tired muscles rebuild, bones grow, and the brain locks in what you learned at practice. Most athletes ages 8β18 need 8β10 hours a night.
π SLEEP + NUTRITION TIPS:
β’ No heavy meals or junk snacks 2 hours before bed β a small banana or yogurt is fine
β’ Skip soda and energy drinks in the evening β caffeine steals sleep
β’ Eat a real dinner with protein and veggies to fuel overnight recovery
β’ Set a phone-free bedtime routine β screens trick the brain into staying awake
Parents: a well-rested kid runs harder, reacts faster, and gets hurt less. The plate and the pillow work as a team.
