We are looking for volunteers to help make Old Hallowell Day a success. This year we have a few key event chair positions that we are hoping to fill. Below are brief descriptions of the open positions:

Co****le Tournament Chairperson - After many successful years, Tim and Amy have stepped down from their role leading this event, so it will not run without someone willing to take up the mantle. The Co****le Tournamnet Chair is responsible for the planning and facilitation of the tournament and Tim has offered to connect with a new volunteer to help pass the torch. This may also be an opportunity to bring back the Bocce Tournament for anyone who has been missing OHD Bocce! If you want to head up field games on Old Hallowell Day, we would love to have you join us!

Parade Co-Chairperson - This opportunity includes working with experienced Parade Chair, Laura Harper, to share the large responsibility of the Old Hallowell Day parade. As Parade Co-Chairs, you will work together as a team on parade planning and ex*****on. This is a wonderful event which displays our community spirit and we would love to have your help in making it possible.

Raffle Chairperson - We have been operating without a dedicated volunteer in this position for a couple of years which has meant additional work for our already busy volunteers! This position is responsible for our fundraising raffles. We raffle the yearly Old Hallowell Day Art piece and in previous years, Raffle Chairs have collected other donated items to include in additional raffles. The responsibilities include determining raffle items and the management of tickets and sales for OHD raffle drawings.

Future Road Race Chairperson - Karen Pendoley has expressed interest in stepping down from her position as Road Race Chair after this year. This is an important opportunity to work with and learn from her with the intention to lead the Road Race starting in 2027. Karen has lead the race with great success and is ready to pass the baton. In order to have the Road Race, we need someone to step into this important role. By becoming involved this year, there is a great opportunity for succession planning and mentorship.

Future Food Court Chairperson - Johanna Turcotte may step down from her position as Food Court Chair after this year, so this is another opportunity for mentorship that could transition into sole responsibility or a Co-Chair position starting in 2027. You can work with Johanna this year while she coordinates another fantastic selection of vendors and possibly take on the leadership role next year!

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, we can provide detailed descriptions of responsibilities. If you aren’t interested in any of these positions, but you still want to get involved, we are always looking for general volunteers to help with the parade, the road race, sponsorship, and all of our other volunteer activities! Please email [email protected] if you would like to volunteer. We hope to have you join us in making this celebration possible.

Please join us next week on Tuesday, April 21st for our next planning meeting! All are welcome!

Old Hallowell Day needs your support! Sponsorship and Advertising are open now! Please consider a corporate sponsorship or ad for Old Hallowell Day 2026. Sponsorship and Ads are open until June 3rd!

We all have our own favorite thing about Old Hallowell Day. For some, it’s the parade, for others, it’s the Arts and Crafts Festival or the Baking Contest. Hundreds of people come from miles around to enjoy our fireworks display launched from a barge on the Kennebec River. But for many of us, it’s the people; the family who plans their visit around the 3rd Saturday in July, the old friends we only see once a year, maybe people we went to high school with. Regardless of what you love most about the day, it wouldn’t be possible without the many businesses, organizations, and individuals whose investments make it a perennial success.

We hope you will consider one of two ways to support the day:

Sponsorship

Besides the priceless feeling of hometown pride, great publicity and high visibility are guaranteed for sponsors of Old Hallowell Day. For 2026 our beloved printed program will remain in circulation as well as digital media for advertising and public relations purposes. As a sponsor you will enjoy:

-A full-page ad in our printed program booklet.
-Your logo and website link on the Old Hallowell Day website and page.
-Eye-catching sponsor signs for sponsor floats in the parade.
-Sponsor acknowledgment in the parade and in printed and digital materials.
-Sponsor acknowledgment at the bandstand and Old Hallowell Day booth.

Advertising in the Program Book

A community favorite, the program book is chock full of information and recognition of community members. Books are distributed free at City Hall, the Hubbard Free Library, and up and down Water Street prior to Old Hallowell Day and are in great demand during the weeks leading up to the event. Additionally, program books are available at our information booth at the corner of Water and Central Streets on Old Hallowell Day. We look forward to including your business or organization.

Please join us by supporting this exciting community event. Visit https://www.oldhallowellday.org/sponsorships or https://www.oldhallowellday.org/ads to complete your form online, submit your electronic ad, provide your logo (sponsors only), and send payment information by June 3rd.

Thank you for your consideration!
