A huge thank you to everyone who came out to participate in the parade and to all who lined the streets to cheer and support this beloved tradition.

We’re so grateful for this incredible community that always knows how to come together, celebrate, and lift each other up. Your spirit and enthusiasm are what make Half Moon Bay such a special place to call home.

Celebrate the Red, White & Blue in True Small-Town Style Tomorrow! 🇺🇸

Adora Palmer, a respected community icon and dedicated steward of our local heritage, will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal. Adding to the festivities, her son, Cameron Palmer, will cohost the parade announcements alongside local favorite and community supporter from Star 101.3.

Half Moon Bay’s most beloved tradition returns for its 54th year — and you’re invited to spend your Fourth of July the old-fashioned way!

Start your morning right with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at 8AM

Then stroll over to the I.D.E.S. Festival, packed with fun from 10AM to 4PM

And the heart of the celebration — the Old-Fashioned Parade at 12 NOON, proudly presented by the Beautification Committee!

From flag-waving kids and festive floats to classic cars and community pride, it’s a full day of hometown joy you don’t want to miss.

We are proud to carry on the longstanding tradition of equine participation in Half Moon Bay’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Parade.

Horses have been a vital part of the Coastside’s cultural fabric for generations, tracing back to the area’s early days as a ranching and agricultural community. Long before it became a charming coastal destination, Half Moon Bay was home to dairy farms, cattle ranches, and working stables—many of which relied on horses for transportation, fieldwork, and connection between rural homesteads.

This proud legacy lives on today through the riders, trainers, and equestrian groups who showcase their horsemanship and heritage during the annual parade. We are honored to live in a place where horses remain a cherished symbol of our past and a proud part of our local identity.

Come Celebrate Independence Day at the I.D.E.S. Fourth of July Festival!

Join us on July 4th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the main I.D.E.S. Grounds (735 Main Street) for a festive day packed with fun, flavor, and heritage! Enjoy live music, delicious food and drinks, and browse 20+ artisan and craft vendors offering unique, handcrafted goods. The whole family will find something to love with activities for all ages, making it a perfect summer outing.

Special Event: Don’t miss the Mural Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 2:15 PM, when the Portuguese Society proudly unveils a beautiful new mural by local artist Julie Engelmann, inspired by the rich heritage and traditions of the Azores.
