Good morning, everyone!!! We are still looking for a few volunteers to help with end-of-day stuff today at The 6th Annual Odenong Powwow. Mostly, it will be to help vendors get their things out of the building and into their vehicles, and then some light clean-up of the gym (put things in trash cans, stack chairs, move tables, etc.). If you are available to help, please contact Kara Kahgee Bear when you get to the powwow.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing everyone today!!!

Meet our Head Man dancer, Justin Maddox!!!

Bio: Hello everyone. My name is Justin Maddox. I am a proud member of the Eastern Pequot tribe. I have been dancing for as long as I can remember. Since I was a kid, I was taught by a handful of uncles and elders. What I love most about dancing is the medicine it gives to our relatives. I dance for the ones who can’t physically and mentally. I dance for the ancestors who fought for us to be here and live the way we do today. I am honored to be this year’s Odenong Powwow Head Man dancer.

***UPDATE***

Good morning, everyone.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have been informed that Chef Sherry Pocknett will not be serving food at the Sixth Annual Odenong Powwow.

There will still be food vendors available, and catered food provided to staff/volunteers/singers.

We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.

Meet our Head Lady dancer, Anaquhsees Pocknett!!!

Bio: Wunee keesuq. Nutus8ees Anaquhsees Pocknett. Good Day, My name is Anaquhsees (little star) Pocknett, and I am the 2025-2026 Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow Princess! I also come from the Navajo, Narragansett, and Mohegan tribal nations. I am 20 years old, born and raised in Mashpee, MA. I am now a Junior attending Framingham State University, studying Food and Nutrition. With plans to become a Registered Dietitian. With my degree, I want to help Native communities battle chronic disease, as we are the smallest minority with the highest rates of obesity and diabetes. This means the world to me to create new connections, opportunities, be a role model for the youth, and be a proud representation of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
