❤️🇨🇿 National Polka Festival Fun! 🇨🇿❤️
On May 23rd, Queen Eden traveled to Ennis, Texas for the 60th Annual National Polka Festival! 🎶✨ This beloved three-day celebration welcomes more than 50,000 visitors each year and features a downtown parade, three dance halls, and plenty of Czech heritage and polka traditions.
Eden was honored to participate in the parade, perform in the Maypole Dance, visit several Sokol halls, and, of course, danced her heart away all weekend long! 💃🌸
A heartfelt thank you to Miss Texas Czech-Slovak Queen Pageant Director Kathy Podsednik for always extending such a warm welcome to the Oklahoma queens. Your kindness and hospitality means so much. ❤️
Until next time, Texas! 🤠❤️🇨🇿

Today we remember the individuals whose love, dedication, and spirit helped shape the our Nation into what it is today. May their souls find rest and their families find peace.

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Memorial day.

🌿✨ What is Art Nouveau? ✨🌿
Art Nouveau is an international art and decorative design movement that flourished between 1890 and 1910. Known for its flowing lines and intricate details, the style drew heavy inspiration from the natural world including; plants, flowers, insects, and even deep-sea organisms.
One artist forever linked to this iconic movement is Czech painter Alphonse Mucha, whose elegant works helped define the era’s unmistakable beauty.
The mural Queen Eden is showcasing was inspired by Mucha’s famous portrait “Reverie.” Originally created as an in-house calendar, the design became so popular it was quickly published as a decorative panel and remains one of Mucha’s most beloved works today.

This timeless mural was created by Iowan artist Ali Hval.

A beautiful reminder of how Czech art and culture continue to inspire generations around the world. 🇨🇿🎨

📍Cedar Rapids, Iowa

What exactly is a houby? In Czech, “houby” simply means mushrooms, but in Czech culture, they’re so much more than that. Houby hunting is a common tradition in Czechia and not to mention fun!🍄

Well… if you had attended Houby Days in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, like Queen Eden, you would’ve experienced that tradition come to life in the best way possible!
Queen Eden spent her time at the festival fully immersed in Czech heritage from riding in the Houby Days Parade, showcasing kroj in the Parade of Kroj, and visiting the incredible National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library. From the excitement of the Miss Czech-Slovak Iowa pageant to reconnecting with fellow Czech-Slovak Queens and meeting new friends, the weekend was filled with culture, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Until next time, Iowa… thank you for the memories, the friendships, and the celebration of culture done so beautifully. 🇨🇿✨
