🎶 ❤️ Proof positive that music saves lives! Guilford Porchfest has brought families back together who hadn’t seen each other in years, welcomed new neighbors into the community through hosting & attending, and given performers of all ages the courage to step into the spotlight and chase a dream. ‼️ 🎉 And in one truly EXTRAORDINARY moment, it even served as the spark for a successful living kidney donation, thanks to one of our amazing Guilford Porchfest hosts!

The perfect song to describe what the last few months have been like is “With A Little Help From My Friends" by The Beatles. It felt like our family and friends were shouting from rooftops across the country! We had friends in CT, NC, FL, NY, CA, and more helping spread the word, some even letting us know they were getting tested.

One of the most determined people was Jerry Kenney, a friend from junior high. Through him spreading the word throughout his networks and rallying their friend group from childhood, Ralph’s story caught the eye of a friend of his from Guilford Porchfest. While she wasn’t a match for Ralph, she was so inspired that she decided to participate in a Non-Directed Living Donation to the kidney bank through The National Kidney Foundation. Her donation in honor of Ralph resulted in him receiving a voucher which moved him up on the donor registry, in hopes of reducing his wait time.

*Well, it did so drastically. This past Monday, after receiving the voucher on November 5th, an anonymous match was found for my dad! And after a day full of final tests at YNNH with his care team…his transplant surgery is scheduled for DECEMBER 30TH! What a way to ring in a happy and healthy new year.

Our family is beyond grateful for the support you all have shown Ralph during this time. Your positive thoughts, your check-ins, and your help with spreading the word did not go unnoticed. We cannot express our thanks enough. We truly have the best community around us!

🎶 Today’s the Day – Guilford Porchfest is HERE! 🎶

The wait is over! So much music. So many porches. All FREE and open to the public!

NEED INFO? Find the full schedule, printable map, Google map & more via the link in our bio. Our info table at 32 Church Street (next to the Community Center) will be your go-to spot all day long.

Porchfest is rain or shine! Rain ☔ = The porch party continues! Thunder ⚡ = The party’s over...get safe and go home!

TIPS: Dress for the (unsettled) weather! Bring lawn chairs, blankets & friends! Park your car, stroll around & enjoy the music!

We’ve got the music. YOU bring the sunshine. See you Sat, Sept 6, 12-5 pm, on porches throughout downtown Guilford!

❤️ One of my favorite moments from last year? .muzyk, singing in the rain at 39 Boston Street. Frank kept singing. EVERYONE stayed. Rain poured down, music soared… pure magic.
