The wonderful support for Veneé Pawlowski and her family is so appreciated! Tomorrow we will have the family together and celebrate her life.
As much as we have kept costs down, still there are expenses coming up. If you can help, please do and share if you can! Thank you ❤️

From Veneé Pawlowski

I want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone that has reached out, donated, shared and supported our gofundme and our family during this difficult time. We’ve unfortunately had to reschedule Mom’s service twice due to the weather and will be moving her service to February 8th.

The gofundme is still live and any additional donations are absolutely appreciated as we wait on the status of any survivor benefits that may help with mom’s final expenses.

The truth is… every time I’ve tried to post anything I’m left speechless. I panic and freeze up because what do you say??? How do you go about business as usual when the world is seemingly on fire and then the brightest star in your sky fades away???

I’m not in a good place and to be completely honest; I have been existing in what can only be described as survival mode for the past year. The accident, subsequent health issues and financial burden of running a small business in this economy most definitely took its toll on what normally is the busiest time of year for the bakery.

I love my business very much and have been absolutely blessed with an amazing community that continues to show up for us and other small businesses across our city.

I ask that you continue to do so as we have recently lost so many staples to our vibrant food scene just this past week.

These establishments are apart of what makes Greensboro who we are and a city that I’m proud to call my home.

All that being said, Black Magnolia Southern Patisserie will remain closed this week as we continue to prepare for our life without Mom.

The bakery needs to be open, but I can’t provide super scrumptious baked goods with a broken heart.

Please continue to support local businesses and please stay tuned for updates on our reopening, new menu and more.

Love to you all.

Sincerely,

Veneé ❤️

If you know Veneé and Black Magnolia, you know the heart they bring to the community.
This unexpected derailment took what was already hard enough to another level.

Our friend Mirtha Aranda Williams wrote this for a fundraiser to help Veneé and her beautiful family. Please, if you can, contribute or share.

Losing a parent unexpectedly can be a difficult spot to find yourself in. Our dear Venee, amidst caring for two young children, running a bakery, and her own recent health challenges, has found herself there with the devastating news of losing her mom. We know times are tough for everyone in this current economy. However, as the phrase goes, “it takes a village.” We live by that. We are reaching out to our village to assist Venee during her moment of grieving. It can be hard enough emotionally, so we are hoping the village can make the financial aspect of after life care for Venee’s mom more manageable.
