Check out Holly Ninneman crushing another half marathon shortly after her first ever half by joining us in Green Lake and then Fox Cities Half Marathon!! Well done Holly!! 👏
It’s time to meet another Facebook Featured Runner. Check out Holly’s story about how one small goal turned into a new love.
“My name is Holly, I’m 46, and on January 1, 2025, I made a New Year’s resolution that felt huge: run one mile by the end of the year. I had never run a mile, never played high school sports, and had no running experience. When I started, I could run for about 30 seconds.
Thirty seconds became a minute. A minute became a mile. And that one mile became something I never saw coming.
In May 2025, I entered my first race, a 10K, and finished in 1:02:00. I wanted to work hard and get faster. One year later, I returned to the same race, ran 45:25, and finished as the first woman overall.
This September, I took on my first half marathon. I ran the Green Lake 13dot1 in 1:47:02 and won my age group. Two weeks later, I ran the Fox Cities Half Marathon in 1:39:25 and won my age group again.
Now I’m preparing to line up for the Bellin Women’s Half Marathon—my third half marathon in less than one month’s time.
Whether I earn another age-group win or simply cross that finish line, I’ve already accomplished more than I ever imagined. I started this journey hoping to run one mile. Along the way, I discovered just how much more I’m capable of.”
