Which begs the question, does anyone even read this section? But, I guess it’s a standard convention these days, and therefore a must-have. So, I’ll give it a shot. And, if you’re bored to tears by the time you’ve finished reading this, then I guess I was right in thinking no one actually reads this page. Sassy Suets was founded out of a love for birds, or more specifically my Wife’s love of birds
(notice how I capitalized Wife, there I did it again. That should score me some brownie points). My Wife (from here forward known as “She” or “Her”) became frustrated with the quality and cost of the existing suets on the Market. They were melting quickly, didn’t attract enough birds (but managed to invite a lot of squirrels), and the value for the price just wasn’t there. So She came up with the brilliant idea to make Her own and went about doing it. She was always fiddling with the recipes, tweaking this and adding that, until She finally was satisfied with the end results. Did I mention who the guinea pigs were? You guessed it, the birds. Each batch would be a test of how many birds were attracted, the species of bird, the “squirrel factor”, and the overall stability or “melting point” of the suet. Now, on to the name. Sassy Suets originated from an evening conversation about how many birds we (really She) were attracting with Her varieties of suet. We noticed the birds loved Her suets so much that they were fighting with each other to get in line for a shot at pecking a tasty morsel from that delicious cake. In fact, those birds (and they still do) were acting down right sassy! Hence the name! If I don’t have you spell-bound by now, chances are you’re tuning out. But, for those of you who want to know more, read on! Sassy Suets is what you might call a boutique operation. So far, everything we sell, we make by hand and right here in Grafton, Wisconsin. We put a lot of love and care in to our products, and we believe it shows through the quality. And, the items we sell but don’t make here, are still made in the USA. We believe strongly in quality, customer care, and supporting other businesses who haven’t gone overseas but have chosen to stay in the good ole’ US of A. PRIVACY MATTERS!
