We've had quite a few bands reach out asking how they can get on the Metal Massacre bill, so we wanted to take a minute to explain our process.

First, don't be discouraged if you missed this year's application window. We want as many bands as possible to apply for future events.

Metal Massacre XV: The Ides of Massacre is officially booked, and we're excited about the lineup we've assembled. If a band drops from the bill, we'll be working through our reserve list before considering bands that did not apply.

If you're interested in playing Metal Massacre XVI, applications will open on New Year's Day and remain open for eight weeks.

Not in a band but want to see one play Metal Massacre in the future? Tell them about us and encourage them to apply.

Now for the important part.

The best way to get on our radar is to become part of the community. Come to Metal Massacre. Watch the bands. Meet the promoters. Hang out with the musicians spending the weekend with us. Get to know people and let them get to know you.

Connect with bands that have played or are playing Metal Massacre. Build relationships. Trade shows. Help each other fill open spots on bills. Support one another. Word of mouth matters, and good bands who are good people tend to get talked about.

We call Metal Massacre a music festival because technically that's what it is. But our real focus has always been building connections between bands, strengthening scenes, and creating opportunities that continue long after the weekend is over.

One final thing that always stands out to us: support the community that supports you. Play benefit shows. Volunteer. Raise money for a cause. Give back to your local scene. Being a great band is important. Being a positive force in your community is too.

If Metal Massacre sounds like something your band wants to be part of, start making connections now, come hang out with us this summer, and keep an eye out for applications on New Year's Day.

We'll see you at Metal Massacre XV: The Ides of Massacre.

πŸ”₯ THE OFFICIAL FLYER FOR METAL MASSACRE XV: THE IDES OF MASSACRE IS HERE! πŸ”₯

Once again, the artwork for Metal Massacre has been brought to life by the incredibly talented John Sloboda.

John has been behind the vast majority of Metal Massacre’s flyers and artwork for years, and his creative vision has become a huge part of the festival’s identity. Every year he manages to raise the bar, and we continue to be blown away by his talent, consistency, and dedication to this event.

John’s connection to Metal Massacre goes all the way back to the early days of the scene, when he was fronting Cleveland metal band Sappy Bell and playing shows all over Ohio, Pennsylvania, and beyond. From those early shared bills and long-running friendships, he naturally became part of the Metal Massacre familyβ€”and even after Sappy Bell played their final show (fittingly at Metal Massacre), he’s continued to shape the festival’s look year after year.

If you’d like to learn more about John’s history with Metal Massacre and his work over the years, check out his page here:

Please join us in thanking John for another incredible piece of artwork and let us know what you think of this year’s flyer!

Here is a thread if you have a newer Traditional metal band, meaning not thrash, power metal, hard rock or doom metal. And certainly no death or black metal. Just new bands from the US and maybe Canada that fall under the traditional metal style. If you break the rules you will be visited by these skeleton warriors! So beware and follow the rules and push you new US / Canada based Traditional band below! And when we mean newer, like only an EP , demo or 1 album out. Who knows...maybe you will get booked in 2027! No spotify..only youtube and bandcamp links please!
