This time of year is truly special—our hiking trails are coming alive with the most beautiful budding blooms 🌸, and the country roads are lined with forests just beginning to wake from their long winter rest 🍃. It’s the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway or a refreshing adventure 🚶‍♀️⛰️.

But the Historic McCoy House isn’t just preparing for tourist season—we’re also here for life’s most meaningful moments 🎉. From bridal showers 💍 and baby showers 🍼 to graduation celebrations 🎓, we are honored to help host your special events. Dreaming of a charming micro wedding? 💐 We’d love to be part of your big day.

📣 WV Trout Fest 2026 Schedule Released! 🎣🎶

The Pendleton County Chamber of Commerce is excited to officially announce the full schedule for WV Trout Fest 2026, taking place May 1–2 in Franklin, West Virginia!

WV Trout Fest is a long-standing, free, family-friendly festival celebrating trout fishing, outdoor recreation, and Appalachian culture. This year’s event is shaping up to be one of our best yet, with a full weekend of activities for all ages.

🎣 Trout Rodeo – Saturday morning
🎤 Live Music All Weekend – featuring regional favorites and headliner Soda Pop Gypsies
🍽 Trout Dinner – a local favorite you won’t want to miss
🛍 Vendors & Community Activities – throughout the weekend
🧸 Kids Kare Conservation Area – Family-friendly fun for all ages throughout the day

To our incredible community and guests—thank you. Your support over the past few years has meant more to us than we can ever express. Every visit, kind word, shared meal, and memory made at the Historic McCoy House has been a gift we’ll always carry with us.
As deeply as we love this home, we’ve come to understand that our time here was meant to be a few meaningful chapters—not the entire story. Despite the amazing support from our community, the natural off-season downtime has made it difficult for our small family operation to continue in a sustainable way. With that in mind, we’ve made the heartfelt decision to list the Historic McCoy House for sale. Until a buyer is secured, business will continue as usual, and we look forward to welcoming guests as always.
We also want to share what this means for The Heirloom Tea Room. Beginning one weekend late spring/early summer, we’ll begin a soft opening phase at our new location as we work toward a consistent weekly schedule. During this time, we’ll offer brunch, lunch, and tea, with the goal of eventually being open Friday through Monday, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM at our new location. This thoughtful transition allows us to better serve our community and build a sustainable rhythm moving forward as things shift into place.
All Heirloom Tea Room gift cards and rain checks will remain valid at our future home, with possible expiration extensions to ensure everyone has time to enjoy them.
The Heirloom Tea Room will relocate it's new Main Street location just down the road. There, we’re excited to continue weekly service, host beloved events like our Old Fashioned Christmas, introduce new ideas for community gatherings, and keep growing alongside our community. We are also happy, proud, and willing to continue hosting the TMF Heritage Tea Room each year at our new, more accessible location near festival parking.
We do very much understand that this may come as a shock to many knowing all the love and admiration we have for the McCoy House, but we know in our heart of hearts that this is what is best. While this chapter at the McCoy House is coming to a close, our mission remains unchanged—to create welcoming spaces rooted in history, care, and community. Thank you for walking beside us through every chapter. Your continued support means everything. 💛
