We are so excited to share what we’ve been working on for the Homegrown Harvest Festival, happening September 26th at Goose Hill Farm! As you’ll see in the clip, we’re celebrating the incredible bounty of Tidewater with all-day live music, a massive corn maze dance party, and epic open-fire cooking featuring top chefs from across Virginia–including Walter Bundy of Shagbark.

But the best part is that we’re partying with a purpose. Every ticket supports incredible local causes:

🥜 The Single Origin Project: Funding Virginia’s first farm-to-food-bank initiative through peanut sales from Izzy’s Field.
💪 T2 Fitness Foundation: Aiding women managing hypertension and diabetes.
🧑‍🍳 The Crop Foundation: Providing culinary scholarships for local high school students (who will be working right alongside our chefs at the festival!).

Food is the ultimate connector. 🌽🤝

In this reel, we sit down with Chris Tan, President & CEO of the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, to talk about how a simple idea grew into over 100,000 pounds of fresh food for our neighbors.

Four years ago, the Food Bank’s Izzy’s Field initiative set out to bring farm-quality produce from Franklin directly to urban communities—but they needed consistent funding to keep it going. Through our partnership at Homegrown Harvest, and with the incredible support of local partners like Hubs Peanuts, the T2 Foundation, and the Crop Foundation, Izzy’s Field has flourished.

From sweet corn to watermelons, we are so proud to help sustain this mission and bridge the gap for food-insecure families in Southampton Roads, the Eastern Shore, and Western Tidewater. Watch the video to hear Chris share more about our shared harvest!

We are incredibly proud to partner with Tasha Turnbull and the T2 Fitness Foundation to support the T2 Fresh Start initiative. For the past four years, this amazing, free 12-week program has been changing lives in Franklin and Southampton County by helping locals manage diabetes and hypertension through holistic health.

At Homegrown Harvest, we believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food. That’s why we’re teaming up to provide fresh produce for T2’s healthy cooking classes at the Franklin food bank. Participants not only learn how to cook and taste delicious, good-for-you meals, but they also get to take those ingredients and skills home to their families. 🧑‍🍳🥦
