Coming to Darkest Day of Horror Movie Marathon II: MARDAZMA, an Afghani/Iranian political horror short from director Amir Masoud Soheili, co-written by Soheili and Sayed Jalal Rohani.
From the director: "Afghanistan has witnessed harrowing realities, especially during its so-called democratic era. The Taliban punished voters by cutting off the fingers stained with election ink—a symbol of both their courage and vulnerability. Yet, people still risked everything to cast their vote, dreaming of a better future. This grim truth serves as the foundation for MardAzma.
Our film flips the classic "good vs. evil" narrative by shifting focus to the antagonists—figures who impose their version of "justice" on others—only to face judgment themselves. Set on the day of a presidential election, before the Taliban's resurgence, MardAzma explores this dark reality through a blend of political critique and Afghan folklore."
