Investing in real estate is a marathon, not a sprint. It is not a get rich quick "scheme" and it is definitely not a hobby. It is a serious business venture. If you truly want to succeed in the real estate investing arena, you need to:
1. Plug in to your LOCAL area REIA group & other Real Estate Investing groups. They are a great way to start learning and networking.
2. Connect with those who know! Those who are successful and know the ins and outs are the ones you need to connect with. Take them out to breakfast or lunch, be prepared to ask questions, be ready with a notebook & pen, respect them and their time!
3. LEARN, LEARN, LEARN, ask questions, ravenously read books such as Rich Dad, Poor Dad, The Richest Man in Babylon, Landlording on Auto Pilot, Profit First, The Tools, Never Split the Difference, Mind your Mindset, Procrastinate on Purpose, BRRR - Buy, Rehab, Refinance, Repeat.
4. It's all about your Mindset; what you think, is what you are! What you think you CAN you WILL. Read Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and transform how you think into how you can!
5. Surround yourself with LIKE MINDED people! We do become a product of the 5 people we most hang out with. So choose wisely as to who will build you up to achieve success.
Lastly, those who succeed are the one's who do it to help others out of bad situations. They turn communities around and increase property values for the older homeowners; they care about what happens their surrounding area and the people in it. They love where they live and they love to help those who live where they do.
