Rest easy, my sweet dear Maximus.
It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, letting you go, eight years ago. But I found comfort knowing you were loved and cared for every single day by Audrey Michelle, who cherished you just as much as I did. She gave you such a wonderful life until your very last moment.
You were the funniest soul I ever had the joy to know. My clever boy who once let everyone out of their stalls just to see what would happen. You carried me with such heart and grace, my very first Tennessee Walking Horse, the one who started it all. You made me fall in love with every smooth stride and every quiet moment between us.
Say hello to Pride, Zeus, and Star. I know you’re running free together now.
